PEQUONNOCK RIVER VALLEY STATE PARK

Commonly referred to as simply "Trumbull", the Valley is an XC and Freeriding paradise. Massive outcroppings of giant granite provide breathtaking scenery as well as awesome trails.

There are four main marked trails running north/south and a maze of unmarked side trails throughout the park offering something for everyone. Blue, along the Pequonnock River; White, down the center of the valley; Yellow, about halfway up the ridge; and Red, along the upper ridge with the most serious climbs.

The park is one of the most popular spots in the state for Freeriding with a number of natural drops ranging from 2-20 feet. You will also find one of Connecticut's tallest rollers: the 30-foot high Green Monster (a.k.a. The Wall). Spend some time exploring and check out the Bat Cave (Crevice), Copper Creek, Picnic Table Rock, Slick Rock East, or the Serengeti. There is also a great view from the trails along the cliffs above Rt. 25. You'll head home in sweat and smiles—it's a rewarding spin wherever you go.
